All district staff,

We would like to touch base to give an update on our ongoing follow-up to the AK report.
To explain further what the investigation is for, a variety of important issues were raised by the AK report. Our attorneys and our insurance company highly recommended hiring an investigator to confirm the accuracy of those allegations.
Due to the investigator?s schedule, the investigation will begin on June 9, the earliest possible date for him to start.
We have heard from some who perceive a lack of progress. And we have heard from some who are tired of this process and want to move on. However it is our responsibility to bring this process through to completion, in an environment where individual due process rights are honored and people are treated with respect.
We are very aware of the speed with which the end of the school year is approaching when many would like to have completion. However, we may not have the results of the investigation available prior to the end of the school year, but will keep you posted of progress.
We would also like to express appreciation for those who have offered to help at this time. It is not our intention to put anyone off, but until we work through many layers of confidential personnel issues, it would be hard to proceed with concrete ways that people can help. However, we do appreciate those who are working hard to help stop rumors and feel that this in itself is a valuable contribution at this time.
