Highly Capable Program

The Lynden School District is now accepting referrals for K-11 students to be assessed for eligibility to receive highly capable services during the 2014-15 school year.  Students eligible for services in the Hi Cap Program perform or show potential for performing at significantly advanced academic levels when compared to others of their age, experiences or environments.  To see a list of characteristics of highly capable students, click here.

Teachers, parents and community members may refer any student in grades K-11 for assessment.  Secondary students may self-refer.  Parents/guardians will be contacted for permission to assess when a student is referred by someone other than the parent or guardian.  Please complete the appropriate referral form (Parent/Self Referral or Teacher Referral) and return the completed, signed form to:  Lynden School District - Attn: Highly Capable Program, 1203 Bradley Rd., Lynden WA  98264.  Referral forms must be received by 4:00pm on Friday, April 25, 2014 for assessment for eligibility for the 2014-15 school year.

For more information about Highly Capable Program services and the eligibility process, please call 360.354.4443 or email Kim Olson
